The 138th Canton International Fair was held in Guangzhou, in southern China. This massive fair is open for three weeks, and you can find almost everything there-and whatever isn’t on display can be requested through online quotes. It’s primarily a B2B event for importers, wholesalers, and retailers, though you can also buy product samples if something catches your interest.
My main goal, however, was to explore the Service Robotics’ section. As a world leader in robotics, China dedicates an entire hall at the Canton Fair to this field. For those familiar with the complex, robotics exhibits were held in the Friendship Hall.
A few innovations really stood out:
- A remarkably stable robot dog that keeps its balance!
- A health assistant designed for remote areas, capable of checking blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature. With the push of a single button, you can also start an online consultation.
- A company produces a humanoid robot with open-source code, used in laboratories, education, and elderly care homes. Their headquarters is in Shanghai, and I have plans to visit them in the spring of 2026.
The advancements were truly impressive, showcasing a future where technology integrates seamlessly into our daily lives and work.
