For the autumn 2025 edition of the Canton Fair, I chose a slightly different travel route this time. I will be flying via Hong Kong and continuing from there to Guangzhou by high-speed train. Finnair operates direct flights from Helsinki to Hong Kong, which makes the journey smooth and straightforward.
High-speed trains depart very frequently from West Kowloon Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station – typically around 47-48 departures per day, roughly every 30 minutes. The fastest journey takes about 42 minutes, and tickets cost approximately USD 25-27 (around 22-25 EUR). This makes it a highly convenient and cost-effective way to reach Guangzhou and the fair area.
For accommodation, I again chose to stay close to the fairgrounds and booked via Booking.com. This time, I selected Yibo Hotel Pazhou, located only about 800 meters from the Canton Fair area. I considered staying further away at a slightly lower price, but ultimately decided that proximity was worth it.
When I made the reservation in late August, the nightly rate was still reasonable at around 145 EUR per night. On my previous trip, when I booked roughly three weeks before the fair, hotel prices had already increased significantly, reaching 250-350 EUR per night. Timing clearly makes a big difference when booking accommodation for Canton Fair.
